How to choose fiber blanket, fiber board, and fiber module?
The core value of ceramic fiber materials is one sentence: keep heat in the furnace and take weight out of the structure. Different forms are not just different names; they solve different installation problems.

01 Three common forms
1) Fiber blanket
- Form: roll, flexible, cuttable
- Advantages: high adaptability, can wrap complex structures
- Common use: insulation layer, thermal barrier, equipment wrap, hot-face backing (depending on temperature)
2) Fiber board
- Form: rigid board, higher strength
- Advantages: size stability, good flatness, stronger wind erosion resistance
- Common use: furnace doors, fire baffles, access openings, insulation structures that need a "hard face"
3) Fiber module
- Form: pre-compressed blocks with anchoring structure
- Advantages: fast installation, good integrity, suitable for large-area linings
- Common use: heating furnaces, heat-treatment furnaces, soaking pits, and other large-area lining systems
02 Two selection lines
- Hot-face temperature and atmosphere: higher temperature and harsher atmosphere require higher fiber grade and surface treatment
- Gas velocity and mechanical scouring: in high-velocity/flame-scour areas, boards and modules are more stable; add a protective layer when needed
03 Most critical construction points
- Anchoring structure should be reasonable to prevent loosening after thermal cycles
- Expansion joints must be handled well to avoid cracking from thermal expansion and contraction
- Hot-face protection layers should match the service conditions; do not skip them just to "save a step"
Xinhui typically provides module layout and anchoring recommendations by furnace type to avoid the low-level rework of "right material, wrong structure."
