What methods can increase fuel combustion temperature?

  1. Preheat air and fuel (most direct)
  • Higher preheated air temperature TairT_{air} can significantly raise flame temperature and radiation intensity.

  1. Reduce excess air coefficient α\alpha
    On the premise of complete combustion and safety, reducing α\alpha decreases N2N_2 dilution and flue-gas sensible heat loss. Trend: αTflame\alpha \uparrow \Rightarrow T_{flame} \downarrow.

  2. Oxygen-enriched combustion
    Raising oxygen volume fraction yO2y_{O_2} (>21%) significantly reduces nitrogen dilution, increases TadT_{ad}, and shortens the flame. Trade-offs: oxygen cost, NOxNO_x control, and higher lining heat load.

  3. Improve mixing and combustion organization
    Enhance turbulent mixing, proper swirl and staged air to reduce local oxygen deficiency and COCO, converting chemical energy to heat more completely.
